Jess Xu - Founder, Managing Partner
Jess Xu, Founder and Managing Partner, leads Shepherd Investment Management's global technology equity strategy. With a decade in public equity investing, Jess was formerly a Vice President at BlackRock and a founding member of its Global Technology Funds (e.g., BGSAX). She was instrumental in the funds' growth from $2B to $25B AUM, delivering an 18% annualized return and a top 1% category ranking over 10 years.
At BlackRock, Jess was a lead technology analyst (internet, services, hardware) and spearheaded data initiatives, architecting a proprietary research platform that enhanced their fundamental investment strategy. She holds B.S. Business Administration (Haas) and B.A. Statistics degrees from UC Berkeley, informing her cross-disciplinary approach to identifying undervalued technology investments.
